brown and white eggs

What's the difference between brown and white eggs?

White
This popular egg type is typically laid by a beautiful all-white chicken breed called the White Leghorn. High in nutritional value, our popular white egg brands include Becky, California Finest, Santa Rosa, Nulaid, and Cal Egg. We also pack and distribute many store brand labels sold in Northern California.
BROWN
Brown eggs are laid by red-brown feathered breeds like the Rhode Island Red, New Hampshire, and Plymouth Rock. Slightly larger than white-feathered hens, these breeds often require more feed and are priced slightly higher as a result. Our brown egg brands include Santa Rosa and Cal Egg. There is no difference in taste or nutrition between white and brown eggs!
CERTIFIED ORGANIC
Our free roaming hens are raised on 100% certified organic vegetarian feed from the day they are born. The feed is grown on land free of synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides for at least 3 years. An independent company certifies that all California State Organic and U.S. Department of Agriculture requirements are met. Our Crack A Smile and Horizon Organic brand eggs are some of the best on the market. For more information on Horizon Organic eggs visit www.horizonorganiceggs.com

NUTRITIONALLY-SUPERIOR
The Chefs Best™ has awarded Eggland’s Best 5 Gold Medals for being “The Best Tasting Egg in America” from 2003 through 2007. Our Egg-Land’s Best hens are fed a patented all-natural, vegetarian diet that contains healthy grains, canola oil, and a supplement of rice bran, alfalfa, sea kelp and Vitamin E. Not only do Egg-Land’s Best eggs taste great, they are higher in Vitamin E, Omega 3 and Lutein and lower in cholesterol and saturated fat than a regular egg. We also offer a Cage Free variety. www.egglandsbest.com
Our Crack A Smile Omega 3 & Lutein eggs are supplemented for people looking to add extra nutrition to their diets. Starting with the same nourishing makeup as all other eggs, this special variety also offers extra omega-3 fatty acids and lutein, which studies have shown helps preserve eye health and reduce the effects of some common ailments. CAGE FREE
Cage Free eggs are laid by hens kept in spacious pens where they can roam, scratch, perch and nest as they please. Our Cage Free eggs are produced from hens fed only all natural grain. Our Cage Free brands include Egg-Land’s Best, Nest Best and Cal Egg.
FREE RANGE
Free Range hens are housed in pens for safety and shelter but have the freedom to move around outdoors during daylight hours. Our hens are provided with clean, dry nesting boxes where they can comfortably lay their eggs, and they have constant access to vegetarian feed and fresh drinking water. Free Range eggs are no more or less nutritious than any of our other eggs. We offer Free Range eggs in our NuLaid brand.
FREE RANGE FERTILE
Hens and roosters housed together in pens (with access to the outdoors) can create Free Range Fertile eggs. Our hens are provided with clean, dry nesting boxes where they can comfortably lay their eggs, and they have constant access to vegetarian feed and fresh drinking water. These eggs may contain a small amount of male hormone, but nutritionally have no known advantages over non-fertile eggs. We offer our Free Range Fertile eggs in our Nest Best brand.
